Job Title:Modeling and Simulation Technician

Description:

The Model and Simulation Technician is responsible for setup, software/hardware configuration, operation, troubleshooting and analysis of modeling and simulation software and operational computer systems. Serves as the simulation technical controller for joint services locally, distributed, or at remote locations. Coordinates with simulation developers to perform simulation/model software upgrades and system performance troubleshooting/analysis, as required. Conducts local and remote site surveys to assess functional and environmental suitability of facilities and test bays for running tech control operations. Develops internal technical training material and conducts technical training for simulations.

Experience Required:

Two years experience in operating systems – UNIX (Sun Solaris OS), LINUX (RedHat), Microsoft Window OS (VISTA, XP, 2000, NT).

Direct operational experience in some of the following simulations: Joint Theater Level Simulation (JTLS), Joint Conflict and Tactical Simulation (JCATS), Air Warfare Simulation (AWSIM), Joint Simulation of Automated Forces (JSAF), Air Force Synthetic Environment for Reconnaissance and Surveillance/Multiple Unified Simulation Environment (AFSERS/MUSE), JCATS Low Overhead Driver (JLOD), or other joint simulations/federations.

Education:

Bachelors of Science degree in any of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or Management Information Systems. Two years of experience in a technical computer field, in addition to the specific and related experience, may be substituted for the degree requirement.

Travel:

Periodic travel may be required.
